I think it would make things a bit more interesting to have the threads sorted by latest activity. Otherwise, I am not able to see where the action is happening! 😃
I am new here as of 5 minutes, but I would agree, and add that there could be an "All" link that shows all activity even if you don't follow someone. After making an account all I saw on the home page were usernames and the option to follow, but no content.
Of course, having just joined, who am I to start criticizing.
I agree, that’s the same issue I faced after having registered today. It took me quite a while to understand that I had to click the signs to see anything.
Maybe five minutes. I first tried disabling my adblocker, then switched to desktop view, then played around with different zoom settings. Then logged out and compared the threads there with the view I had when logged in, etc 😅 Maybe a little info box for onboarding would be a good idea, too.
Our moderation system is currently.. each user has their own whitelist of users. There are no moderators or admins. Thus, it doesn't really make sense to show all content.

1* We should have different sorting options on threads.Default should be by latest activity.
2* There should be a way to see all the messages and topics in one time. I shouldn't be disconnected to see all messages by all users... In no others forums connected users have less views options than disconnected ones...
If you're logged out, then you must use my (stink's) list of users. If you log in, then you can use your own list of users and you can put every user on that list if you want and see everything.
If I were to remove all users from my list, then logged out users would not be able to see any content.
Also, while logged in, you can go into the settings and select stink's following list and then you'll see exactly what you would see while logged out even when you're logged in.
